Dear FSC Sports Club Member,
As we make our final preparations to open our pools for the summer season, I wanted to update you all on a major renovation project we have undertaken this year. In January, we began the process of resurfacing the pool at LionsGate. While it was always going to be a significant undertaking, we could not have predicted some of the roadblocks we would be faced with in the coming months. An abnormally wet January and February delayed the start of stripping the pool surface. Then, as I’m sure you have all experienced in different ways over the past few months, we were confronted with supply chain issues due to COVID. Finally, as we look to fill the pool once it is replastered, we are dealing with water restrictions due to the current Johnston County messages. While we have been able to repaint the features and bridges around the lazy river, we have not been able to complete the resurfacing project.
With that being said, we will not be ready to open the Lionsgate pool this coming weekend as planned. We are very sorry for this inconvenience, but as outlined above it is beyond our control. We know that a combination of the holiday weekend and very warm weather has everyone excited for pool season, so I want to make sure you are aware of your other options. As a member of the FSC Sports Club, you may use the pools at Riverwood, Tralee, or Mingo Creek. As of now, we are scheduled for the LionsGate pool to be resurfaced this weekend and for the 175,000 gallon pool to be filled soon thereafter with water that is trucked in. Our goal is to be able to open that pool on Saturday, June 5. Please check our newsletter and social media for any updates to this schedule.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but hope to see you at one of our other pools this Memorial Day Weekend!
Thank you,
Charles Walker
