Last week we introduced you to Lynn, our yoga guru. This week we sat down with Lynn and asked her a few questions.

How did you get started in the fitness industry?

The first yoga class I ever took was at Riverwood more than 13 years ago…and I was hooked.  Four years ago, I did teacher training, and I’ve been teaching ever since.

What are you most proud of?

In life: my family-two kids!

In yoga: getting to share the magic with people of all ages, fitness levels, physical abilities, and seasons of their life.

What has been 1 of the biggest accomplishments of your career?

The biggest accomplishment of my fitness career has been (pre-covid) teaching a class with 40 people in it!  During the pandemic, I pivoted to online teaching to continue connections with my yoga community.

What has been 1 of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career?

2020 and the COVID Quarantine

What is 1 lesson you have learned that other fitness professionals can learn from?

Everything can be modified to suit a person’s ability. Yoga is for everybody and every body.

What are your main motivations for teaching/training?

My main motivation for teaching is continuing to learn and grow as an instructor.

I’m also motivated to get as many people as possible to experience the benefits that yoga provides for the mind, body, and spirit.

I’m motivated to forever being a student of the practice of yoga

If you are interested in joining Lynn’s Yoga Class at Riverwood during the month of June, her class is Thursdays at 9 AM.
