As we shelter in place, waiting for COVID-19 to pass, some neighbors are coming up with some creative ways to pass the time. We’ve come up with a few ideas to add to your list.
BACKYARD SCAVENGER HUNT
One activity that you can do as a family out in the fresh air is a backyard scavenger hunt! You don’t need to buy anything at the store for this. You can take random objects from around the house and hide them outside. You can then create a list of all of the objects and keep track of who finds them, and whoever finds the most, wins!
BRING OUT THE ARTIST IN YOU
If you’ve always felt like your artistic talent has been overlooked, why not put that talent to good use by doing sidewalk chalk in your driveway with your family? Your family can also create signs to place in your windows. Go on and let your creativity flow free! You can create multiple works of art, and maybe even have coordinated themes with your neighbors. If you do any sidewalk chalk art or window signs post them to our Facebook page, we would love to see your creativity!
THEME YOUR DAYS
Having a hard time figuring out what to do with your days or nights? Create themed days. Here are some examples:
Sundays are for picnics! Create a picnic to have outside in your yard, or your porch. Eat picnic food like sandwiches, and drink lemonade.
Mondays are for magic! You get to pick if it’s Houdini, Harry Potter, or Disney Princess magic.
Tuesdays are for supporting your favorite local restaurant with getting take out. You can always order burgers from MISSION to-go!
Wednesdays are for trying out new dishes! This is for all of those saved but untried dishes on your Pinterest board.
Thursdays are for think-tank projects. Those scraps of wood in your garage, a hammer, add some nails, and you might have just designed the perfect birdhouse for your family to paint. Then, you could always make Tacos for dinner. Tacos are always good.
Fridays are for movie marathons! Pick your favorite movie saga, trilogy, or franchise and hit that play button.
Saturdays are for continuing movie marathons, and well whatever you want because it’s a Saturday!
These are just a few ideas to get you and your family started. Feel free to mix, match, and start something new this week.
