The world of exercise has steadily grown larger over the years as people decide to either add daily or weekly exercises to their schedules. Deciding to start exercising can be a little more daunting when you realize that there are different kinds of exercises, exercise machines that may look the same but aren’t, and a plethora of classes.

We want you to have the best success in your health journey, so here’s some information and a few sources to help get you started!

There are four types of exercise:
– Endurance
– Strength
– Balance
– Flexibility

Each one of these targets different parts of the body – that’s why experts at the National Institute of Aging say you need to be working on all four types. Be sure to discuss with your doctor if you are concerned about whether or not your can participate in a certain exercise or type of exercise.

Remember, if it has been awhile since you have worked out, or are going to start working on a different type of exercise, you will need to go slow to feel out how your body is responding.

Luckily at FSC Sports Club, you can achieve all four types of exercise with us. We offer aerobic classes at two locations that touch on all four kinds of exercise as well as a full layout of workout equipment and free weights for strength and endurance workouts. We also can’t forget about the indoor pool located at Riverwood Athletic Club if you prefer to work on your endurance with a good swim.
