Last week we introduced you to Suzanne, one of our amazing personal trainers. This week we sat down with Suzanne and asked her a few questions.

How did you get started in the fitness industry?

I can’t really remember a time when health/wellness and fitness wasn’t a daily part of my life. Diabetes and high blood pressure are extremely prevalent in my family and I vowed at an early age to do what was necessary to avoid them. My mom would say that I woke up every day “hitting the ground running” so I guess I took that a little literal. I was always an athlete and participated in sports most of my life but it was in my 20s that I discovered body building and I was hooked. It wasn’t until about 10 years later that I decided to share my love of weight training and fitness with others through personal training.

What are you most proud of?

My three children. They are smart, driven, and independent and make me so proud with everything they accomplish.

What has been 1 of the biggest accomplishments of your career?

I don’t have any one single incident that defines a biggest accomplishment. For me it is more of that “aha moment” when a client gets so excited when they have gained strength and get to pick up bigger weights or start to notice changes that are happening in themselves both physically and mentally.

What has been 1 of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career?

One of the biggest challenges for me is accepting that most people don’t LOVE working out, running, or making good food choices… but I really want them to LOVE IT like I do.

What is 1 lesson you have learned that other fitness professionals can learn from?

Every day is a new day to learn and grow and I have the opportunity to share this knowledge in a way to motivate and inspire others to try and become the best version of themselves.

What are your main motivations for teaching/training?

I have seen firsthand the struggles that my family has endured from chronic disease. I hope that my own personal passion for wellness and the inspira3on and dedica3on to helping others in their fitness journey can help change lives for the better.
