The dual meets have officially begun! If there were any major hiccups, the coaches had no idea. The team would like to give a big thanks to the TSA Reps and all of the volunteers that helped the meet run so smoothly.
The results are in! Springdale is a very good team; they have a lot of club swimmers ranging from ages 7 to 18, but the team hung in there through most of the meet. Being a division higher and playing at their home pool, Springdale won 315 to 191. While that may sound like a large margin, in reality, it was still a close meet—the difference of just over a handful of relays and about 15 individual races. The team can use this as motivation as the summer season continues!
The coaches are incredibly proud of all the swimmers. The team had 94 swimmers participating in 277 individual swims. Out of those 277 swims, 111 were faster times, marking a 40% improvement from just a week prior at the inter-squad meet and a few times from last year.
The team also celebrated two Triple Winners in the 7 to 18 age group and one Double Winner in the 6 and Under age group. A triple or double winner is a swimmer who wins all of their individual heats in a main scorable event. Congratulations to triple winners Elijah Hammons and Caleb Uscio, as well as double winner Nathaniel LaMotte!
Most Improved awards go to the swimmers who improved on every single one of their swims across the board. These swimmers include Kate Stephenson, Zoe Agro, Skylar Boice, Trey Leahey, Owen Mason, Kale Miller, Ben O’Brien, Keegan Sauer, Jude Tomaino, Lillian Vaughn, Ania Vollstedt, Amelia Alejo, Blake Dayhoff, Nathaniel LaMotte, and Allison Payton.
The next meet will take place on Tuesday, June 16th, at home against the Heritage Betas.
